Alumni Meet and Education Promotion in Vietnam and Myanmar

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Alumni are spread evenly not only in Indonesia but also abroad. Given the large number of alumni both in quantity and quality, various positive potentials can be developed through a strong bond between the alumni. For example is idea contribution for the advance of almamater UGM on providing educational facilities as well as improvement on knowledge that is taught to the students. Therefore, UGM held Alumni Meet and Education Promotion in a number of ASEAN countries. After visiting Laos and Thailand on the third week of October 2016, UGM team then headed to Vietnam and Myanmar on Thursday-Monday (20-24/10).

Led by Executive Secretary of UGM, Drs. Gugup Kismono, M.B.A., Ph.D., the team was welcomed by Consul General Jean Anes at the Indonesian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Jean responded positively and fully supported the plan of UGM to establish cooperation with education institution in Vietnam. UGM delegation team then continued the agenda by holding Education Promotion at University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) Ho Chi Minh City on 21 & 22 October 2016.

Alumni Meet and Education Promotion in Vietnam was held at the Myanmar Indonesian Embassy on 24 October 2016. UGM delegation team visited University of Yangon at the Department of Anthropology to communicate UGM plan to establish cooperation with the University of Yangon. This activity was viewed positively due to the active communication between the alumni that is able to create a network potential that is mutually beneficial and synergistic for the alumni themselves.
