Initiating the meeting agenda at the beginning of the year, the Directorate of Partnership, Alumni, and International Affairs of Universitas of Gadjah Mada (DKAUI UGM) through Sub-directorate of Alumni Relations held an agenda entitled “Coordination Meeting of Online Legalizing Service” on Thursday (26/01) afternoon. Taking place in the Multimedia Room of UGM Central Building, the meeting covered the optimization of alumni services and advances of online-based certificate legalization and alumni verification services development. The meeting that invited all Vice Dean and Section Head of Academic and Student Affairs also aims to establish a more synergic alumni service among the university and faculty levels.

Koko Widayatmoko, a 1963 graduate of Faculty of Engineering becomes one of Sahabat UGM (Friends of UGM) through his contribution in giving his personal collection of book. Sahabat UGM Program is one of the Sub-Directorate of Alumni Relations UGM programs to provide greater opportunities for alumni and partners of UGM who want to contribute to the university development. “Alumni and partners who want to contribute to UGM is now facilitated in the Sahabat UGM Program. Not only money, but also could be in the form of training and services,” said Dr. Sulistyowati, Head of Sub-Directorate of Alumni Relations UGM in the handover of Koko Widayatmoko’s book collection to UGM, Monday (19/12) at the UGM Central Library.
Thousands of alumni and students along with the people of Yogyakarta spilled into the streets on Sunday (18/12) morning. Together, the participants walked along the historical route on the agenda “Niti Laku Perguruan Kebangsaan”. The activity which was held the sixth time this year, is part of the highlight of 67th Dies Natalis Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM anniversary). Starting from Keraton Yogyakarta, the participants moved through Malioboro Street, Mangkubumi Street, Cik Ditiro Street, and then ended up at UGM Central Building.

Moreover, the simultaneous election of regional leaders in more than 100 province and regency / city level regions makes 2017 a hot year for Indonesian political scene. It also indirectly affects regional policy patterns which also have an influence on the national level. Seeing reality as it is, KAGAMA, along with KOMPAS, organized a ‘Teras Kita’ National Discussion, titled “Indonesia Outlook 2017” on Friday (17/12) in the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Auditorium, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FIB UGM).
Alumni Dinner is an annual event organized by the Directorate of Partnership, Alumni, and Global Initiatives (DKAUI) as part of the Anniversary of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). Housed in Balairung UGM, the event which took place on Saturday (17/12) night was attended by about 400 alumni from different regions and professions. UGM Alumni that are having governmental career such as Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc., who is a State Secretary, Ir. Budi Karya Sumadi who is the Minister of Transportation, as well as Ganjar Pranowo, SH, M.IP. also attended the event to enliven the 67th Anniversary of UGM.
UGM gave awards and appreciations yet again to outstanding alumni who have contributions and inspiring actions both nationally and internationally. This year, the awards bestowed upon the five best graduates from different fields after going through a selection process and judging.
The award-winning best alumni are; alumnus of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Triono Untung Priyadi in his work in the field of entrepreneurship as an innovator and pioneer of white oyster mushroom cultivation in Cianjur; alumnus of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Wahyudi Anggoro Hadi, S.Fam., Apt., in his work in the field of cultural preservation by building a culture-conscious community named “Komunitas Pojok Budaya” in the region of Bantul.
